  • Pizza timers are the new default
  • Game servers equally distribute load

Bug Fixes

  • Skill score adjustments after voids

New features/improvements

  • Tagcoin Shop flair rarity is now visible on the profile>flair tab and the about flair tab.
  • New users are now defaulted to “Pizza” respawn timers instead of “Blink”.
  • Load balancing has been added to the Chicago servers to evenly spread games when all 5 servers are reporting similar performance.
  • A pre-game message has been added for Trial maps encouraging players to vote.

  • Do not automatically send players to spectate when they are queued for Casual games if they do not have “Spectate” selected.

New features/improvements

  • Group preset creation links
  • Lag-out improvement for reconnecting players
  • Mars ball behavior cleanup
  • Many misc. UI improvements

Bug Fixes

  • Rolling bomb momentum fix

New features/improvements

  • Group presets can now be shared as links! A preset link can create a group with and apply your desired settings with just a single click. Try it out with this link for crazy-hockey!
  • Group presets can now include a game server or region selections.
  • Rejoining a game from a second tab now kicks the original tab instead of blocking the new connection. This allows players who lag out to reconnect to their game successfully instead of being redirected to the homepage.
  • The vestigial “Competitive settings” button has been removed from group pages.
  • The Mars Ball siren has been removed.
  • A mechanic allowing Mars Balls to award returns has been removed.
  • The /spectate page has been reformatted to fit more cards and make better use of vertical space.
  • The shop flair refresh button has been rebuilt with more intuitive explanations and obvious outcomes from clicking. (Based on your feedback!)
  • All links on the TagPro website which direct away from TagPro now open in a new tab by default.
  • Tagcoin alignment has been tweaked in the Shop for vertical centering.
  • Player names in groups which are too long and truncated can now be viewed in full by hovering over that name.

Bug fixes

  • Momentum is now properly applied to players with no momentum and an active rolling bomb when contact from another player forces the rolling bomb to defuse.
    • AKA: A rolling bomb flag carrier standing still used to not move from the bump if they were defused, now they do.
  • “Spectate” buttons on the /spectate page or while waiting for a game now work even when clicked quickly after the page loads.
  • Links intended to open in new tabs now do so consistently as expected.
  • Seasonal flairs are now properly reset for all players between seasons.
  • A stray white pixel on the 238 degree Uranium flair has been removed.
  • Disabling Map Testing Mode restores duration and mercy rule settings to their defaults.
  • Long player names in groups remain on a single line instead of wrapping.

Originally announced on Reddit as Community update #39

New features/improvements

  • ‘Stats-off’ is now ‘pause rolling 300’
  • Seasonal leaderboard special effects
  • New texture packs!
  • Tagcoins visible on the scoreboard

Bug Fixes

  • Player indicators on team switch

New features/improvements

  • The ‘Disable stats’ feature has been replaced with a ‘Pause rolling 300’ feature in the profile settings.
    • Players who had their stats disabled prior to this release have automatically had their rolling 300 paused. This can be disabled in the profile settings.
    • In public games, all users now receive Tagcoins, all-time stats, wins towards degrees and degree flairs, and Casual leaderboard stats (in casual queue) regardless of their rolling 300 pause status.
  • A special in-game effect has been added to the Seasonal leaderboard flair (also referred to as the “Ice crown”).
  • Flair quality has been restored to the smooth edges seen before the recent release using anti-aliasing.
  • Three new texture packs have been added:
  • Earned Tagcoins are now visible on the scoreboard after each game.
  • A partial overhaul of our particle and graphic rendering has been implemented to reduce demand on browsers and clean up existing rendering quirks.
    • If you previously experienced stuttering on maps with gravity wells or in games after specific events such as boosts or captures, try re-enabling particles to see if there is any improvement!

Bug fixes

  • Player indicators on the scoreboard now update appropriately when a player switches teams.
  • Tier boundary smoothing has been fixed to gradually move the cutoff between tiers instead of jumping large distances overnight.

Originally announced on Reddit as Update #38 PATCH NOTES

New features/improvements

  • Flair shop is now live!
  • Player AFK/spawning indicators
  • Added active MapTest Committee flair

Bug Fixes

  • Spectator memory leak patched
  • Groups self-deleting patched

New features/improvements

  • The TagPro Shop is now live! Find it in the upper right corner of the homepage.
    • Play Ranked or Casual games to earn TagCoins, and spend your TagCoins on new flairs!
    • Flair options reset weekly, no two players have the same flairs available!
    • Shop flairs are NOT event flairs, and are not required to keep or earn the Event Master flair.
    • We plan to add many more mechanics for earning coins, and non-flair earnable items in the future!
  • When a player receives a “Ranked ready” notification, an indicator is now displayed on their ball to teammates so their disconnect does not come as a surprise.
  • Player indicators next to the game clock now display when a user is AFK/Pending or respawning.
  • The feedback tab has been fully migrated to discord (canny removed their free plan). Users can still view and submit feedback from the website, but post replies, upvotes, and searching are unfortunately only available through discord.
  • A new flair has been added for active MapTest Committee members, who can now be viewed in the leaders>volunteers section of the site with the rest of our contributors!
  • The profile>flair tab now displays Owned and Unowned flairs side by side for better display of progress bars and new flairs to earn.
  • Casual leaderboards now clearly display who is above and below the cutoff to earn the flair for that leaderboard.
  • The joiner will now notify group members when they have selected a server with no open game slots. Previously this would only result in an indefinite “Looking for game” message.
  • Players kicked from a game for AFK now receive a prompt to enable site notifications if they have not already done so.
  • Clicking on player names in a ranked launcher now opens their profile in a new tab.
  • Ranked void notification visibility has been improved by displaying the message on the joiner page rather than briefly in the launcher (map voting) page.
  • Players who go AFK during a minigame are now redirected to the homepage at the end of the game rather than kicked during it.
  • Annually occurring event flairs will no longer be awarded during minigames.
  • Hot Dog flair.

Bug fixes

  • A memory leak has been patched which would result in choppy performance for spectators. This was most obvious to users with smaller setups at the end of longer games but did affect all users.
  • Groups will no longer delete automatically if all members are waiting in the joiner for longer than 60 seconds.
  • Refreshing during a casual game after receiving a “Ranked ready” notification will no longer result in a timer restart (and voided Ranked game).
  • The “rainbow road” easter egg now fades out instead of covering the map with splats for the entire game.
  • The “You have X recent disconnects” message will now accurately use the number of disconnects in your casual game rolling 300 (this was resulting in longer re-queue penalties for players who had very few recent disconnects).
  • Players who void a Ranked game from the map voting page (never join) now receive the expected re-queue penalty.
  • Players who are pulled from a Casual game into a Ranked game which voids will no longer receive an extended respawn penalty for refreshing if they are sent back to the same Casual game.
  • Players who leave a Ranked game now receive a voided loss rather than a win if their team votes to continue and wins the game.
  • Player splats are fixed to fade out near dynamic tiles and persist in the open field.
  • The leader of a group will no longer change during server restarts.
  • Players entering the joiner prematurely during Ranked map voting will be properly redirected to their Ranked launcher instead of the homepage with an error.
    • This was a compound bug with the above listed ‘refresh’ bug. If you received a “Ranked ready” notification and ended up on the homepage unable to join your game, this is now fixed.
